Its been a busy couple of weeks and as I had some free time last FridayI took time to look at how hip hop has evolved over the years as well as the people singing it . Mary J Blige was one artist who has definately evolved and her music in a way expressed what was going on
in her personal life and the way it has evolved from some sad songs to some happy songs.
The artists singing hip hop and rnb have evolved artists like usher started when they were teenagers and they are grown men now
the music shows that maturity.
I have been impressed by the way hip hop has moved from being a very small music niche into the main stream .It has had its fair share of critics
along the way. I am very frustrated with people with backward thinking who look at hip hop and rnb artists as inferior to rockers or other genres.
I think this debate was brought to the fore front when Jay Z was asked to headline Glastonbury. I was so glad he gave the amazing performance that he did it sure did silence the critics. It also moved hip hop into a whole new spectrum which can only be a good thing .
the urban culture in general has come a long way and will continue to evolve and the understanding of it sure seems to grow which can only be a good thing.
Enough of me going on . Hope you had a good partying couple of weeks. For those that were at the Whitebull last Wednesday thank you for the support and I am going to keep playing the very best in hip hop every Wednesday.

what happened to the no snitching and keep talking compaigns |

Hi peeps how are you doing . Hope you are ready for a fun filled weekend . I had a hectic week as always but hey its all good ...... I was listening to some old skool when i remembered the NO SNITCHING compaign and the controversy it caused not so long ago .I have no view in this matter what so ever but what I found interesting were the situations given as examples in both camps . For those that are not familiar with the No snitching compaign it is believed to be a compaign to stop informant taking to law enforcement agents with roots in Baltimore . Baltimore police responded by doing a Keep talking compaign. The hip hop community was embroilled in the two sides . Keep talking or NO snitching. I will say one more time I have no view on this matter whatsoever . what I found interesting were the examples both camps took to support their arguments and how it all seems to have gone quiet .I remember there were even some no snitching T shirts but now it seems to have all died down. Soulja boy takes Ice T to task about a few things . |

This week has started with a bang . My party people how is it going . I was well offended when one of my peeps drew the video of miss winehouse singing somewhat questionable lyrics- racist in nature . Me and my boys had a hard time figuring out what to do with the clip weather to add it or not cause in a way all publicity is good . I have decided to add such a clip and let you make your own minds up. She really needs some help. Anyway onto other more interesting things what a rant at Jarmaine Dupree. |

Hi peeps sorry I havent really been making as many entries as I usually post , well lets just say I have a lot of work but I think its bound to get better soon . I hope you have been partying hard . I am glad to say I will be spinnning at the Whitebull in blackburn on wednedays along side Metalman we are going to play the very best in hip hop ,bashment , dubstep as well as some raggae and drum and base. A lot of music but hey thats what a good party is made of . In urban music i trust to rock a midweek party so dust your glad rugs and let party . Hi Peeps how are you doing . hopefully are cool . Summer is upon us and buy is this summer promising to be good . The weather is getting better and the music like wise . I have a number of promoters whispering some amazing ideas for the summer and definitely its going to be good. I have been too busy to add entries to my blog but hey am going to ensure that i keep you guys posted.
Was at Cafe manyana with DJ Mash and DJ Dwyne on Tuesday those that where there had a good time and the good times are going to continue like that if anythings its going to get better.
